Choosing a Belly Dancing Outfit

To get the most out of belly dancing, you must get a belly dancing outfit.  Unlike most other forms of exercise, for which you can throw on an old t-shirt or pair of sweats, belly dancing really requires you to wear a belly dancing outfit because it is so much a part of the dance itself.

BellyDancing Outfits

There are only three articles of clothing in a belly dancing costume: the bra, a floor length skirt, and a belt. Although this does not seem like much, it is incredibly important that you understand the significance of each piece of clothing..

You can basically go with whatever colors and styles that you want, so long as you stick to the basic outfit, which consists of the three previously discussed articles of clothing.

As long as you do this, you can then basically make the outfit as personalized as you want, however remember not to go overboard, and that the key here is simplicity. The main point is to be basic, so that the eye of the viewer is focused largely and most primarily on the dancing itself, and not what the dancer is wearing.

You also want to try to not get anything that is too glitzy or shiny, although beading and sparkle is prominent in regards to belly dancing clothing as a whole.

You want an outfit that stands out and that is beautiful, but not one that is overboard or wrongly put together. It is incredibly important to keep this in mind, and if you do not feel up to the challenge of putting together the outfit yourself, you can hire someone who can act as a stylist and help you to put together some stylish and beautiful belly dancing outfits.

Whatever belly dancing costume you end up buying, make sure it’s one you feel comfortable in.   After all, for such a beautiful dance you want to feel that the belly dancing costume brings out the beauty in you as well.
